[Week 10]
  • Find a good font for the title and make sure there is a hierarchy for your design.
  • you can add Taylor’s logo in the title or the on the next page.
[Week 11]
  • Experiment more with the fonts on the title page.
  • The acknowledgment page can be page 4 or 6 have empty pages in between.
  • The copyright page should be on its own.
  • The “research question” and “research objective” should be plural.
[Week 12]

  • Change the size of the skeleton heads and the ribcage for more contrast.

  • Try playing around with the text so that there is a more interesting layout.

  • Maybe change the layout for the words in the literature review, right now its too spaced out.

  • Increase leading for body text.

[Week 13]

  • Write a new title for the journal article.

  • Take a section you want to focus on from your dissertation paper and bring it into the journal article.

  • Make the introduction the abstract and make the other sections more concise.

  • you can focus on the mental health section of the paper but make sure to bring it back to design somehow.

Reflection

[Week 9]

After finally completing the writing part of the paper we were able to do what I like which is design. After eight weeks I was finally able to relax and do what I enjoy, I got a chance to look at several unique and journal designs and tried coming up with one for mine. Because my design was about body diversity, I decided to transform the journal design to look like an anatomical book.

[Week 10]

As this part of the designing process was similar to what we learned in interactive design I had fun designing a couple of pages. I had to keep in mind the readability of the paper and also went for a more minimal look with few designs.

[Week 12]

This week we continued working on our publication, although I was a bit behind on schedule due to the large number of pages I had to design, I had fun trying to come up with creative ways to display the information.

[Week 13]

While we waited to get our draft dissertation back I was able to finish my design and was happy with the layout. There was a few tweaking I had to do before the final submission but over I was content with the work I produced.
