Final Reflection

Experience: For me, this module was refreshing, not too stressful, and we had the opportunity to work in groups that we didn't have last semester. The lectures were also a little interesting, where we got a chance to hear from our classmates rather than just the lecturers in the flip classrooms. I didn't know what Information Design was about initially, and I honestly thought it would be very boring, but I'm glad I was wrong. It was so much fun to learn and get to make our infographics. I didn't know I was so fond of making infographics; I suppose I found a new passion. All our group members had the same humor and ideas when it came to the final project, so it was very easy to finalize scenes, and we were able to successfully finish our work on time.

Observations: This module helped further develop our understanding of design principles. I think I didn't find this module stressful because I had already understood some of the principles such as hierarchy, harmony, and character development from my previous semester. In this module, I reused the information I learned, built up more knowledge, and practice applying them to my work.

Findings: Infographic designs have been around for such a long time, yet it surprising how little I knew about them. Through this module, I got an opportunity to learn about theories such as Manuel Limas Manifesto, the LATCH principles, and Chunking. All very simple concepts but very important to ensure our work is easy to understand and can get the information intended across.
