Project 1: Character Blockout

Instructions

Project 1

Week 7:

I started off by finding a reference that I could work with for my character body blockout. I looking for a body shape that is not too muscular yet not too thin as my character can fight but she prefers not to and is rather a peaceful person.

Fig 1.0 Character Reference

After finding the reference I blocked out the body of the character following what was taught during class. Using cylinders and circles to map out the body then merging and finally detailing the muscles.

Once I was done and happy with the body I started with the face and ears. I didn't detail the hand and the feet yet and focused on the body muscles.

Week 9:

After getting Mr. Kannan's feedback I fixed the chest and smoothen the muscles.

Feedback

[Week 9]:
  • Be careful with the muscles as now it looks a bit like an older character. Refine and smoothen it.
  • Consider the breast bone or chest looks too big.
  • Bring the forehead a bit forward, refer to references.
