TASK 2: Concept Development
Instructions
Task 2:
Week 6:
This week we started with the character's facial expressions. Once I had finalized her face I tried applying a different expression to her.
Week 7
Next, we had to come with 10 poses that our characters can do for the final poster, as I wanted my character to have either a staff or a sword for a weapon I tried looking at references and drawing poses keeping those weapons in mind.
Week 8:
From the 10 poses I created, I picked five poses that I thought would suit my character well, and on those poses, I add 5 different costumes. I once again research more on costumes for nomadic people and this time I tried looking at different countries such as Greece, Russia, and Magnolia for inspiration. I paired each costume to a pose I thought would suit and also added the weapons I had designed in Task 1.

Week 10:
For the final outfit design, I combined costumes 2 and 3 after getting feedback from Ms. Anis. As for the color I went with green because as she is from the grassland I wanted her outfit to almost camouflage with her surrounding. At the same time, I wanted to still look royal so I added the gold accents.

Feedback
[Week 6]:
- Goodjob but you are still playing it a bit safe with the mouth of the character. So play around a bit more and look at references.
[Week 7]:
- The poses do look a bit stiff because you are very technical with your drawing. Pay attention to the s curves.
[Week 10]:
- Everything looks good, you can even try to combine a few costumes for the final one. I personally really like number 2.
Reflection
I enjoyed doing this task because I enjoy designing costumes. However, I struggled with drawing poses because I am very technical with my drawing and couldn't achieve these curves Ms. Anis was explaining to us. I also have difficulty drawing facial expressions from different angles, which is probably why I stuck with the same front angle. This is something I want to keep practicing in order to get better at. Overall I am happy with what I was able to achieve in this task; the coloring and detailing of the character really made bring it to life and I was happy with the character I made.
