Feedback

Week 10: The main character looks very much done but I think silhouette #14 looks more dynamic so maybe change it to that. give more body shapes through the clothes to make him look more muscular and menacing. For the female character the skulls on the crowns are too much, make them small a bit or change them. Increase the contrast of both colors, the blouse can have more style to it to make it more alluring. Use negative space to show the shape of the body more. Think of the materials and how they reflect in the light. The creature character looks more solid, just fix his anatomy. make him more hunched.

Week 12: For the female character give a slit on the bottom of the saree to make it more seductive, and exaggerate her more. Tilt her head a bit more. For the male character, the pants folds can be better, and the chest is too rounded for a male.

Week 14: Give borders to weapons and enlarge the motifs. Turnaround works on the value but the face is too dark add a soft light to give it a bit more brightness. Add color to the turnaround. Go for a darker background for all the characters.

Reflection

Project two was more on polishing each character, as Mr. Kannan felt that my other silhouette was better suited for the character. I had to start my design from scratch again, leaving me behind on my work. I tried to do more research on other character designs to see how I could make the character more menacing and cultural motifs I could add. Ultimately, I was glad Mr. Kannan told me to make the change because the new character I produced was much better than the original. From there, I continued using the feedback I got to refine my character. I was meant to do a 3d character render in Zbrush, but because I don't have Zbrush on my laptop, I had to travel to campus to finish, and while I was done with most of it, my brother got covid, so we were quarantined, and I was unable to finish my work. Instead, I focused on polishing the characters enough so that it makes up for the absence of a 3D render.
The art bible was fun to make; it felt like I was making my book. I looked at several designs from the books that Mr. Kannan provided and designed each so that the character's information is presented in a very neat and clean manner. Overall I was very happy with the characters I produced. I was able to see my growth from the semester three-character design. I wish I could finish the 3D render, but I hope what I have is enough.
